Website Design

Wendy Boglioli offers a very specific service which wasn’t being conveyed properly on her old website.  Visitors would get lost in the images about swimming and wouldn’t realize she does public speaking and consulting.  We worked with the photographs provided and developed a more attractive and easier to navigate design.

WordPress Integration (CMS)

To keep the management of the site simple we integrated the design with WordPress.  As a content management system Worpress is so much more than a blog.  It allows client’s to manage pages, posts, and SEO architecture all from one admin area.  Once the website was completed we provided Wendy with an easy to follow video tutorial so she could update the website whenever she wanted to.

Twitter Integration

Wendy is very active on Twitter and she wanted an easy way to display her tweets on the website. We integrated a plug-in that pulled her tweets in automatically to her website.

SEO Friendly Design

Keeping Google happy is a must on any website we make.  The hard part is making sure fonts will always look good in any browser and remain search engine friendly.  We solved this design issue by using cufon font replacement technique.  Doing this made the H1′s and rotating font on the homepage unique and seo friendly.

Improved User Experience

Wendy’s old website was very misleading and did nothing to explain who or what Wendy did.  Our website architect (John Koch) worked with Wendy to understand what she did and how she wanted to portray her brand.  Swimming was a very important part of who Wendy is and we wanted to play off her experience in the Olympics.  Keeping that in mind we developed her navigation around Swimming (her bio), Living (her blog), Speaking (selling her public speaking service), and Connect (easy way to contact her).  Combining this navigation with pleasing images has helped Wendy book more events.
