This financial membership website was made using Drupal as a coding platform. We customized the application to fit the customer’s needs and keep the project within budget. Building a stock portfolio and questionnaire management system gave the client full control over the website.
Discountinvestmentadvisor.com is a membership based site that allows it’s members to sign up, take a questionnaire, and be placed into a suggested stock portfolio. The members will pay a fee to be on the website and get access to updated information about what stocks are suggested to invest in. The owners of the site have full control to add, edit, and remove stock portfolio information at anytime.
Content Management System (CMS)
Even though this is a membership based website, we needed to create a CMS backend to allow the owners text editing capabilities. They would be changing what the website said weekly, and we didn’t want them to wait when they needed to make a change. The entire CMS admin area allows them to create pages, add images, and change meta tags for search engines. Overall the system gives them the capability to change content without needing to know HTML or any coding language.
Questionnaire Creator
Since all the portfolios where based off the questionnaire new members needed to take, we created a questionnaire creator. It gave the admin the ability to change both the questions and the value for each answer. At the end of the questionnaire they can pick how much each portfolio is worth. This way the admin can manipulate the questionnaire to fit the portfolio.
Planned Website Architecture
Since the client needed a lot of customizations to the drupal platform, we needed to plan this website before coding it. Like a normal custom website build, the client worked with our architecture consultants to understand their idea and develop a prototype before the programmers started. Once the prototype was approved, we sent it over to our graphics team and coders to carry out the plan. Building custom websites with this kind of process ensures the website is built correctly and on time.
Portfolio Management
This investment website gives its administrators the ability to change what portfolios are good for different clients. Each client takes a questionnaire and gets placed into a recommended portfolio (conservative to aggressive). As the portfolio’s stock prices change or the stocks in each portfolio change, the admin has the ability to update this information at the drop of a hat. As an investment firm, the owners needed the system to calculate year end earning percentages as well. This system has made it easy for Mueller Asset Management to control their portfolios and provide their clients a very useful tool.
