Advanced Search Engine Optimization (SEO) concepts are inherent for the Internet marketing of your website. After you have completed developing your website, you need to promote it through Internet marketing and basic SEO. There are many things to decide on. How exactly you will make your website do well? How will you go about attracting visitors, and then converting those visitors into sales?

If you do not follow advanced SEO concepts to let your visitors know that your business exists and is open, they will not be able to find your website at all. How will you be able to sell your products or information if users do not know that you are here? Advanced SEO concepts and your website are irrevocably linked together. They will help you make sure that your target market is able to find your website on the Internet. In other words, users that looking for the product or service that your company offers will be able to find your site through the use of keywords, which correspond to your product/service.

Most people target the big 3, and learn how to optimize for Yahoo! Google, and MSN.

Quality Content

If you don’t learn anything else about the Internet, learn this: content is king and quality content rules the Internet. The major search engines will analyze your website content and index it in their database. If the content is not of quality or does not match with the product that you are selling, you will not be able to attract targeted visitors.

To make your content worthwhile, it is very important that you select your keywords very carefully. For instance, if you sell mobile phones on the Internet, make sure to mention keywords such as: mobile, cell phone, camera mobile phone and other words related to mobile phones on your website. You can research keywords for your target market and product here:

Simply type in your product or service name into the search box.

However, you must be careful when using keywords. There is a fine line between using keywords well and using them too much. If you will mention a particular keyword too often, the search engines may mark your website as spam. Spam is a website killer. Why? Because the whole purpose of the Internet is to provide useful content to users and advertisers. As a result, the search engines have dedicated themselves to the eradication of Spam from the Internet. Therefore, if your website is marked by the search engines as Spam, unfortunately you will get a very low rank or position in the search results.

As a general guideline, you should have 2-4 targeted keywords per webpage. Then, each keyword should appear on the webpage about 5 times per 300-400 words (about 2-3%). This way, you will avoid the appearance of keyword stuffing, which is simply cramming the keywords on a page to artificially boost your website in the search results.

Link Building

Onpage and Offpage Optimization are equally important. As more and more websites link to your website, it calls attention from the search engines. This helps in growing your ranking. If you make and receive links to your website from other websites, make use of important keywords as the anchor text in your hyperlinks. For example, if you sell mobile phones online, use the link “buy mobile phones” instead of “click here”. Knowing how to use your keywords as anchor text requires basic knowledge of HTML (the coding language of the Internet). Here is an example of HTML code using the above “cell phone” example:

John Doe makes it easy to finally buy the right cell phone! learn the essential keys to cell phones, get free products, tips and articles by visiting our a href="http://www.mobilesite.com" >buy mobile pones website!

In the example above, the HTML code is in bold. As you can see, the website name is in quotes and follows the “href” tag. It is followed by the keyword enclosed in the > < symbols. You can cut and paste the above paragraph and substitute your own information.

Know Your Audience And Target Them

Leave your website link on any website where your potential customers meet. For instance, you can submit your link on forums or discussion boards that are related to your website. However, be careful where you post your website link. Make sure the medium is legitimate and not simply garbage, as posting on junk sites can ultimately result in your website being blacklisted by the search engines.

Offline Targeting

You also need to do offline marketing of your website as well. Place advertisements in local newspapers, distribute print pamphlets and do word-of-mouth publicity by telling everyone you know about your website.

Add A Sitemap To Your Website

Do not forget to have a sitemap on your website. A sitemap is a menu of the pages that are on your website. For example, if your website is a mobile phone site, your sitemap may include: about us, contact us, mobile phone store, nokia phones, and so on.

Do Not Use Frames

Frames are not acceptable to be used as a design in your website. Many search engines just skip any web pages with frames. Why? Remember that in our previous paragraph regarding spam, your website must be of the highest use to visitors. Because frames are very difficult to separate from each other by your visitors, they are not considered useful to the Internet. For example, if your frame page consists of list.html and content.html, the visitor will land on content.html, and he may not have a list to navigate on your website to proceed.
